Academic studies
Professor Dimitris Emmanouil specialised in Paediatric Dentistry at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, USA. He holds a Masters Degree from Marquette University, USA, a PhD from the University of Athens and a Diploma in Clinical Research from Harvard University.
He is past Assistant Professor at the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, University of Athens, Greece and King’s College London Dental Institute in the UK, and past adjunct Assistant Professor at the Washington State University, School of Pharmacy, where he did extensive research on nitrous oxide pharmacology for which he is recognized as a worldwide authority.
Profession and Research
For his research he has received the “Dental Anesthesia Award” from the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and “Best Research Award” from the American Academy of Paediatric Dentistry.
He has served as President of ADSE, the American Dental Society of Europe, the oldest society in Europe, second only to the International Red Cross. Since it was established in 1873 it has had a major impact throughout the world by influencing the dental profession and claiming as its members many of the world’s leading dentists at any one time.
Serving also as President for IADH, the International Association for Disability and Oral Health, he was instrumental in developing the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum guidance in Special Care Dentistry.
He is a member of many prestigious international societies like the IADH (International Association of Disability and Oral Health), EAPD (European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry), IAPD (International Association of Paediatric Dentistry), ADSE (American Dental Society of Europe), UK, Greek, and Italian Dental Association.
Prof. Emmanouil is being invited to lecture extensively throughout the world on a variety of scientific topics in Paediatric dentistry. He is the author of numerous scientific articles published in international scientific journals and contributing author to the book “Behavior Management in Paediatric Dentistry” (2013, Wiley-Blackwell) and to the book “Odontiatria special per il paziente critic e diversamente abile “ (2012, Edi-Ermes), and the author of the Nitrous Sedation chapter in the book “Pediatric Sedation Outside of the Operating Room” (2021, Springer).

Dr. Manos received his dental education at King’s College London (ranked no.1 dental school in Europe), followed by a 3 year residency program in Orthodontics at the University of Michigan, ranked no.1 in the world. He is Board-certified with the American Board of Orthodontics.
Profession and Research
Dr. Manos loves creating smiles and making his patients feel part of the Dental Kids family. He always strives to deliver the highest quality of care to his patients. For that reason his goal has been to acquire the best Dental and Orthodontic education possible and continue to do so by keeping up with all recent advances and evidence.
His leadership role as chief resident of the Orthodontic department in the University of Michigan, allowed him to have a positive impact not only on his peers, but incoming orthodontic residents as well.
In addition to presenting at several international scientific congresses, Dr. Manos carried out research focused on craniofacial syndromes during his residency at the University of Michigan, and he was able to be part of the Craniofacial Anomalies Program at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, one of the largest programs of its kind in the United States.
He is a member of many prestigious international organizations like the AAO (American Association of Orthodontists), ABO (American Board of Orthodontics), BDA (British Dental Association), IADH (International Association of Disability and Oral Health), and ADSE (American Dental Society of Europe).
It is important to him to always be involved in his community, and throughout his education and professional life has been involved with projects extending beyond the realm of the clinical environment.

Since 1988 with Dental Kids
Dental Kids was founded over 35 years ago in Athens by Prof. Dimitris Emmanouil upon his return from the United States where he trained in Pediatric Dentistry.
Equipped with high-level academic knowledge and driven by a passion for treating and helping children and parents in his community, Professor Dimitris Emmanouil founded the first dental practice, Dental Kids.
Following in the footsteps of his father, Dr. Manos Emmanouil, he grew up in an environment filled with smiles, positive energy, and a passion for making everyone feel part of a big family. Inspired by this passion, Dr. Manos decided to train in high-level dentistry and orthodontics in the United Kingdom and the United States.
